The Federal Government has accused the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) of being economical with the truth on lecturers prolonged industrial action in the universities. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Matters, Com. Jude Imagwe, stated that the claim by the union that its action was to restore infrastructural decay in universities was nothing but a lie, noting that ASUU was fighting for allowances.

Information reaching us at GistMeANSU reveals that the University of Nigeria Nsukka will no longer re-open for the 2013/2014 academic session come September 26, 2013. The university of Nigeria, due to the ongoing nation-wide ASUU strike has decided to join their colleagues in other varsities! In a press release by the school registrar, Prof. A.I Okonta, he said: "This is to inform the public, particularly students, parents and Guardians that the re-opening of the university scheduled for Thursday September 26th has been postponed due to current industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). A new date for the re-opening of the university will be announced later." Students please take note and share this!!!

Desperate to halt a probe into his finances, governor James Ibori tried to bribe former anti-corruption boss Nuhu Ribadu in 2007 with $15 million in cash in a bag so heavy one man alone could not lift it, Ribadu told a London court on Thursday. According to the P.R.O Uli campus Odogwu Zimuzor , Azubuike gave up the ghost on sunday as a result of a severe electric shock. Efforts to help him survive were to no avail. Bright is an ELECT-ELECT ENGINEERING student of Anambra State University, 300Level. May his soul rest in peace.
