The girls who graduated with a 2’1(Second  Class Upper)  have opened a twitter account where they have been campaigning for a job. According to them, they have walked every nook and cranny of Lagos State looking for a job, with no hope of getting one.

On 26th August, there was a fight between two lodge mates, a boy and a girl. After which the girl allegedly called her boyfriend who is said to be a senior adviser to the governor. The man came with his tugs and took away 10 boys from the lodge who were said to be innocent and has nothing to do with the said fight, while the culprit bailed himself with his legs on sighting the tugs. In the police station, these boys were reportedly accused of kidnapping.

 A doctor, who secretly treated a diplomat who had contact with the index case, Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, has died of Ebola in Nigeria. The doctor, who has yet to be named, died on Friday. His wife has also taken ill and has been quarantined in Port Harcourt. Interestingly, the diplomat the doctor treated is still alive.

 An American-owned restaurant in South Korea has caused controversy online after pictures of their discriminatory sign against Africans was uploaded on the Internet 2 days ago. The sign says that Africans are not welcome in the bar due to Ebola, and everyone has been accusing the owners of ignorance and racism. On Monday August 18, 2014 the vigilance of Lagos Airport security personnel saved the country from what would have been a lethal suicide bomb attack at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. A TLC documentary has shown how for many years  Ricky Naputi , who at his heaviest, weighed more than 400 KG/900 pounds, battled with food addiction, and lost.  His wife Cheryl described looking after him as 'just like taking care of an overgrown baby', as he fell in and out of a deep depression over his obesity. Ricky Naputi  was confined to his bed, and Cheryl did everything for him from cooking his food to cleaning every inch of his huge body, and helping him go to the toilet. At the time of his death hadn't walked on his own for more than 7 years.

A group of soldiers in north-eastern Nigeria is refusing to fight Islamist Boko Haram militants until they receive better equipment, one of the mutineers has told the BBC. The soldier, who requested anonymity, said at least 40 of his colleagues would refuse orders to deploy. The military has not commented on the reported mutiny or the demands. A state of emergency that was declared in three north-eastern states last year has failed to curb the insurgency.

 Nurse Justina Obi Ejelonu, has been confirmed by World Health Organization (WHO) officials to have contracted  the Ebola Virus. She is one of the Nurses that attended to the Liberian Ebola patient, Mr Sawyerr at First Consultant Hospital Obalande Lagos where she is a staff The Ebonyi State University Abakaliki graduate wrote about her experience early this week attending to the Liberian Ebola Patient that died in her Hospital.

Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian credited with importing Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) to Nigeria, contracted it when he travelled to Liberia for his sister’s burial.  According to The Daily Mail, Sawyer was returning to Nigeria after attending the funeral of his sister who died of the disease two weeks earlier, after which her husband fled from home. He collapsed at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday July 20, and was hospitalised at First Consultant Medical Centre, Obalende, Lagos.

 Madrid (dpa/NAN) ― The Spanish government said that an air force plane was leaving Madrid on Wednesday to pick up a Spanish priest who has tested positive for the Ebola virus in Liberia. The Spanish Defence Ministry said the plane was leaving Madrid to pick up the patient, in line with the strict security and quarantine guidelines stipulated by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
