I love this writer, and so I don't fail to read his status update on facebook regularly. Though sometimes, I disagree with some of them. But he is entitled to his opinions. The Kano State Government has said that the recent batch of 300 medical students proceeding on foreign scholarship would cost the state N2.7 billion.  At a send-off ceremony organised for the students at the Government House in Kano, Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said his administration was able to embark on the initiative through aggressive internal revenuegeneration and prudent management of resources.

Senior lawyer and political activist, Femi Falana (SAN), yesterday sent a petition to the Inspector General of Police demanding a detailed investigation of the letter purportedly sent to the Taraba State House of Assembly by Governor Danbaba Suntai yesterday indicating he is ready to resume office. Governor Suntai returned to Nigeria on Sunday after 10 months away receiving treatment and rehabilitation for serious brain injuries he received when an aircraft he was piloting crashed in October 2012.  Reports say he appeared bewildered and uncoordinated as he arrived, needing help and not speaking.

The Federal Government is not just serious. For crying out loud, what do they take us for? The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, yesterday came to the conclusion that the government was not ready to end the 8-week-old strike, after both parties failed to reach an agreement in ten meetings, lamenting that government displayed dishonesty and lack of integrity during negotiations. ASUU’s President, Dr. Isa Faggae, who spoke at a briefing in Lagos claimed that government had declared it would not implement the agreed injection of funds to revitalise the public universities, but was only making a dubious statement of supporting some universities with N100 billion.

Wentworth, who played the lead character Michael Scofield in Prison Break came out as a gay man yesterday August 21 via an open letter to the Saint Petersburg Film Festival, rejecting an invitation to attend a premiere there because of Russia's recently-passed anti-gay laws.     Don Jazzy and D'Prince's mum was photographed last week Friday at Kevin Lucciano-Gabriel's wedding in the UK. According to  Maestromedia   who took the photos, Don Jazzy's mum flew in from her base in Dublin, Ireland to attend the wedding. Blood is thicker than water "same nose".Lol!

Former World Bank Vice-President, Africa Region, Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili, yesterday described the National Assembly as a drain pipe on the nation’s economy, disclosing that Nigeria had spent over N1trn between 2005 and last year mainly on salaries and allowances for legislators. There’s a piece of twaddle going around the internet called 10 Rules For Dating My Daughter, which is packed with “funny” threats like this: “Rule Four: I’m sure you’ve been told that in today’s world, sex without utilising some kind of ‘barrier method’ can kill you. Let me elaborate: when it comes to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.” All of which boil down to the tedious, “Boys are threatening louts, sex is awful when other people do it, and my daughter is a plastic doll whose destiny I control.” Look, I love sex.
