Can you believe that it’s already December? This year has flown by in the blink of an eye and we’re on the verge of yet another year — a year full of possibility. What you will accomplish next year greatly depends on the people you surround yourself with. Or, in other words, it greatly depends on which people you decide not to surround yourself with. When bringing in the new year, be sure not to bring all your garbage with you. Leave these toxic individuals in 2014; you’ll feel much lighter, allowing you to get a great running start on the year to come.

The PRO of kano state medical association Ismaila Garba Gwammaja has announced the arrest of a fake Medical Doctor in Kano. According to him the fake doctor runs a private hospital known as Ideal Hospital. Who also uses the name of one Ibrahim Muhammad instead of Adamu Aliyu. Special assistant to the state goverment on private hospitals Dr. Salisu Ahmad said the fake doctor has been under a careful watch for some period of time.

The Vice Presidential candidate of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 presidential elections, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has promised that General Muhammadu Buhari will oversee the defeat of Boko Haram, should he win next year’s election. A  couple based in Texas, USA, Mr and Mrs Don and Nkem Okoro who were in Nigeria for vacation and to attend a burial of a relation, have been killed by unknown armed robbers who tried to rob them along Benin-Onitsha high way on their way to the village to attend a burial. Their two-year old niece was also in the car with them, and sadly, they were all killed. Another report also says, they were trying to run from the robbery attack which made them have a ghastly accident in which they all died. The Nigerian community in Houston who are grieving however says their death was regrettable and it was something that could have been preventable if only the country was security conscious. They are survived by five children. 

Last week, a Vanguard columnist wrote on his page about how Omotola said she sometimes gets tempted to cheat on her husband, a story she later denied on twitter, saying she never granted Vanguard the interview. The same reporter who made published the story last week, now has a new angle to it, insisting Omotola granted the interview and there was indeed no need for denial. Continue below... Elnathan John has defended the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe on the statement he made on national tv few days ago, saying the president is just like Jesus Christ. Elnathan says though some of the people he knows think otherwise, he totally agrees with Doyin Okupe and here’s why. What he wrote on his  blog  after the cut.

A 15-year-old schoolboy who was stabbed dead in the UK, has been identified as Joel Adesina. Joel, who is also a footballer, was ambushed while taking a walk. He and his friends were chased into a housing estate in Bethnal Green, East London. The assailants caught up with them and stabbed him in the stomach last Friday. He dies three hours after he was rushed to the hospital and an 18-year-old suspect was arrested and later released, with no further action expected to be taken.

A baby girl has been born in the West Bank after her father’s sperm was smuggled out of an Israeli prison. Baby Yasmeen was conceived through artificial insemination and born on Wednesday at a hospital in the West Bank City of Nablus.
