Lagos Hospital Where Ebola Victim Died Shut Down And 55 Others Who Had Contact With The Victim Are Closely Been Monitored
The Lagos State government has shut down and quarantined First
Consultants Hospital in Obalende where a Liberian, Mr Patrick Sawyer
with Ebola virus died last week in Lagos.
“We have shut the hospital to enable us to properly quarantine the
environment. Some of the hospital staff who were in close contact with
the victim have been isolated. The hospital will be shut for a week and
all staff monitored to ensure the virus has not spread,” the Lagos State
Health Commissioner Jide Idris said.
Mr Idris also said the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia, Chigozie Obi Nnadozie, three staff of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, and 55 others who had contact with the victim are closely been monitored.
