E-Blaze's List of Top 10 Most Influential Students in ANSU
I was tweeting with a friend when he asked me who and are the influential people in ANSU Igbariam of the last decade and I replied: "Everybody has his or her own opinion on this issue.
Here is my own list of Top 10 Most Influential Students and why I think so.
(10) Paddy : Hell yeah! shocked? I knew you would be but tell me someone else you know that divides opinion on any blog in ANSU than the controversial Paddy?
His comment always garner reply from fellow commentators. He has made people ask this question severally; Who is paddy? Most people want to meet him, the fact that his comments stand out and people want to see Paddy's comment makes him influential.
My own views though. You might have yours. An example is Bonario of lindaikeji blog. Those of you who visit the blog will know him.
Do you know he is a Nokia Lumia ambassador?
Yes he is...just for commenting. Like Bonario, Paddy used the technique of stirring up controversy with his comments. This is his distinctive style that has made people ask who he is.
(9) Doncarta : A rapper a good friend of mine though he deserves a place in this list anytime any day. Doncarta took ANSU rap to the next level with his ibo language flow which has a soothing sensation. When you listen to him you wouldn't ask twice why he was crowned Etisalat best rapper in ANSU. He has also inspired ansu ibo rappers. Secondly, the fact that Terry-G and NiggaRaw gave him a thumb up shows how far he has gone.
(9) Baby Blinks: Another No.9. Yes Christiana has
inspired dancers in ANSU she is deservedly ANSU's best female SUG dancer. Till date she has a very strong personality that differentiates her from other dancers. She is also a motivation as her new idea has turned into the ANSU dancers association which she is leader. She has introduced a new breed of dancers which makes her also a philanthropist. She is also an actress with a theatre group; 'Theatre Catholica" that performed at the 50th anniversary of Chinua Achebe's novel; "Arrow of God". With all these what else does it take to make it to this list?
(8)Lydian: Yes one of the best dancers ANSU has ever seen. Lydian is not just a dancer. She is also an actress. Lydian was the first female aspirant of the director of social of the S.U.G. Though she did not win, she gave the
guys a run for their money. She later went on to put ANSU on the map when she won the "National Spelling Bee competition". She didn't stop, she went on to be the D.O.S of all English students in Nigeria and later the
vice president. She is an entertainer, a politician, student activist, diva nawa oooo!
(8)Zenoblaq: ANSU's best dancer for over 3yrs.
He was also dance instructor of "Theatre Catholica" for 3yrs the first to hold that position for so long another ANSU legend (Graduate of BKF).
(7)Nze Sam: Yes! Nze Sam emerged winner of the S.U.G presidential election from a department that is barely 3years. Same number of years as his stay in school. Becoming S.U.G governor is rare occurrence. Nze Sam is
officially a dream that came through of some sort.
ANSU's Obama and deserve to be on this list.
(6)Denze: Did I just hear the ladies ask
why???
Despite his controversies, he was the recipient of the award for the "Most Influential Student" by the S.U.G. An award I disagree wit though...But he is influential but not the most influential in my own list. He is a musician, politician and he was recently appointed the D.O.S of Law without an election.
This alone shows how influential he is.
(5)Mr Flexy: being popular doesn't mean you are influential but how can someone that took ANSU music to another level be ignored? When his single 'oyi something' you all know that song went on to be a smash hit in the East and though this is the least of what qualifies him to be on this list. Mr Flexy is the first ANSU artist to collaborate with an established act like Veeckokings while others like
Denzecity has followed in his footsteps meaning he started the trend and he deserves to be on my list.
(5)Decency: Tied at No.5 with Mr Flexy. About a year ago Decency will not make a top 20 in other words this a
story of someone who lost the S.U.G election twice but still came up to spring an entertainment establishment Maybond entertainment brought about one of the biggest shows ANSU has ever seen. "Face of ANSU". He was the first individual to achieve this feat in over a decade many have tried but failed decency passed were many S.U.G D.O.S failed. A true champion to stand after
falling.
(4)D1: The first artist to do that also a rapper he opened the door 4 ANSU All Stars to hold the social sector of ANSU and still hold the title for the best S.U.G night till date even though it wasn't that fantastic. We pray Biggy
eclipse this
(4)E-blaze: Eblaze deserves a mention on this list e-blaze is a rapper, actor, student activist and has won accolades like the "Unizik best rapper 2011".
"English National artist of the year in DELSU 2013",and has appeared on the cover of the unizik student magazine "Kench Magzine". E-blaze is also controversial as he has been in the news for the wrong reason. Eblaze was the immediate past president of ANSU All Stars as an activist Eblaze spoke for the artists which led to them getting hotel accomodation at events.
He also spokeout against non payment of artists which he was once arrested for by the dictator goverment of the past D.O.S Embo. Eblaze is also acclaimed as the first
ANSU rapper as he once told Mr Best on a
GistMeANSU interview: "When I came to ANSU,
no rapper was established so i decided to do it hiphop as they were only singers around surprisingly the crowd at english night in 2009 loved it since then there have been no looking back." E-blaze is also the founder and
C.E.O of T.W.C that has acts like Babyblinks, Browzino, Acekid, Dbeauty and MC Zico is an ex-member.
The group is in 10 different universities across nigeria. And is officially one of the legends as he is a graduate of English department. (jan2014).
(3) MC-Okiripo: The best ever mc/comedian ansu has
ever seen Okiri did it all from dancing alongside his close friend Ability to Dj before he became an M.C. He was also one of the executives of the defunct "Cute Boys" Ent that produced the likes of Embo, Denzecity, D1, DJ Ohans. Okiri is a graduate of political science (2013) and is one of ansu's legends.
(2) Mr. Best: This is a legend that is not yet a
graduate. The rapper, Enterprenue, writer, blogger, Label owner, student activist and the current president of the ANSU All Stars came to limelight as a magic in 2012 with his hit "Ebube Ogwu".
Mr. Best is arguably the most popular student in ANSU both at Igbariam, Uli and Awka campus. He is the CEO of Chapter5 and he produced Doncarta, Ikon, Killit and Mirabel. As a blogger, Mr Best revolutionized ANSU in all aspects; Popularity, entertainment wise etc
In 2012 he was invited for Farafina Trust by Chimamanda Adichie, where he was the youngest and only undergraduate amongst 22 others from different parts of the world. He is an author of a book titled 'Voices from the streets'.
Mr.Best has also been a leading voice in fight for
entertainers in ANSU that also got him arrested on many occasions alongside E-blaze by the then D.O.S Mr.Best
might be short in size but in charisma he is extra large. For me he is the current most influential student still in school. His achievements are numerous and I won't
have space if I continue so kindly GOOGLE the rest.
(2)Rydda: This young man was the very first ANSU artist to hit lime lite and is the founder of CuteBoys Ent. as a student rydda made ansu students to realize that their own indigenous can do what they invite artist to do. In the past there was Eblaze, Mrbest, Mr Flexy... name
them! There was Rybaba like he was fondly called. Only the current final year students should know him. He graduated in 2012. A legend I guess.
(1). Pastor Chris: Dominion City!!! Yes he is my No.1 a pastor that touched many, his technique of making crusade look classy made everybody in ANSU Igbariam literally a born again the handsome pastor with swag affected the life of many in a positive way the success of
Christianity in ANSU today GOD really used him.
