ARE LADIES REALLY DISADVANTAGED IN THIS SENSE???

When a man needs a wife, he goes to search out and marry a woman of his choice; but when a woman needs a husband, she is constrained to just pray and wait on the Lord...
Even when a woman genuinely loves a man, she is forbidden by culture (and maybe, religion) to do anything about it. She is expected to wait in hope that the man she loves will someday come to her. Most times, it doesn’t always work out for the ladies…

I’ve been thinking and thinking about this. Friends, what do you think? Is this a disadvantage to the ladies? Do you believe or suggest that a lady can propose to a man she loves?? Kindly give your very sincere answers, opinions and reasonings…

I have not come across a law,statute,proclamation,constitution,rule or even a decree that conspicuously precludes women from proposing to men and/or the punishment awaiting women that propose to men.
My literature teacher once told me that if U̶̲̥̅̊ don't say "hear I am",no body will no that U̶̲̥̅̊ are in that specific place.
My advice is for people to go for what they need and believe in once there is a corresponding mutual concencus....It matters not to me if my wife proposes to me but what matters to me is whether I love her or not.D1

Kudos to brainy Best Oereke for this wonderful post. In a simple language, the answer is YES. Any restriction from doing what another does is a disadvantage. This is one of the unfortunate disadvantages women suffer. Inheritance is another. May be you have to do a post on that too. Though I am a boy, the culture whereby girls are denied inheritance of their dad's property is heart aching, to say the least.

@dyzle,I understand what U̶̲̥̅̊ mean buh in dose moslem countries.It's only their morals,ethos or culture that forbid women proposing to men and not the law.if we can both agree that there is no law anywhere in the world that states "that any woman determined to have proposed to a man will be stoned to death,killed by a firing squad or imprisoned for life with hard labour,then we have to understand that there is a huge difference/discrepancy between the law and morals........

I agree with uguugo...it is really a big disadvantage because guys see a pretty damsel and run after her,when a girl sees a handsome damsel (LOL) even thou she wants to be with the guy she cant do a damn thing about it,instead she will try to draw the guys attention †Φ her self by doing funny things...instead of using immoral dressing to attract one guy to notice you and end up attracting thousands of men...why not go strait to that one guy and tell him how you feel...I dont think their is anything rong with a girl proposing †Φ a guy...like some oda pple said their is no law the prohibits woman from proposing we Nigerian just had that mentality that is rong but it is not!!!
