Former ASUU president Festus Iyayi killed in fatal crash today

Former President of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Festus Iyayi, was killed this afternoon in a fatal auto accident in Lokoja, on his way to Kano state for a meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of ASUU where the union is expected to call off its four month old strike.

It's being reported that the convoy of the Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Idris Wada, rammed into the vehicle conveying Professor Iyayi and some members of the union to Kano. The university don who is also a popular writer, died on the scene while two other occupants of the vehicle were injured.

I also learnt that the next ASUU meeting has been moved to January 15 2014, over the sudden death of Prof Festus Iyayi.  Students na trade tinzz oo. Lol!
