ANSU Staff bags International Award
An academic staff of the Anambra State University, Engineer Luke Eme, has bagged an Award from the International Water Association (IWA), London. Engineer Eme, of the Department of Civil Engineering, received the honour from the President of the Association, Mr. Glen Daigger, for emerging first at a poster presentation competition held to mark the Association’s 2013 World Water Congress and Exhibition.
During the competition, which took place between the 16th and 215t of September 2012 at Burssan, Korea, a total of three hundred and eighty seven poster presenters participated. Out of this number, Five were Shortlisted for the finals where Engineer Eme’s presentation was chosen by the Selection team as the best presentation. The other four winners were Man Heinonen, Mincheol Kim, Gabriel Raioviteanu and Zhuo Chen.
The Management of ANSU has already congratulated Engineer Eme on the Feat he performed and charged other staff to always project the high academic standard for which the University is known in all their endeavours. In his reaction, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Fidelis Okafor, assured that the management would always encourage both academic and non-academic staff to participate in international competitions that promote the corporate image of the University.
Also a Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, Anambra State University, Dr. C.C. Nwobi- Okoye, recently gained global recognition in research. His research paper titled “Performance Evaluation of Hydro-power Generation System Using Transfer Function Modelling’ appeared in one of the top Engineering journals in the world, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ELECTRICAL POWER AND ENERGY SYSTEMS, published by ELSEVIER.
