Dr Chris Ngige "the man of the people" By Obiakor Alvan Mademan

Through out my whole life of viewing leadership, there is only one perfect name that keeps coming to my mind: Senator, Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige,OON, (Onwa). What am about to skim over is not just to throw goodness at a man who hate waste,whether of materials, money or time but to put his work in proper perspective and expatiate more of this worthy leader. Dr Chris Ngige is one of the most popular and highly respected politician in Anambra state.

By 1999,he was Assistant National Secretary and zonal Secretary of PDP in the south east region of the country. He was elected the Governor of Anambra state in 2003 under controversial circumstances. Being a patriotic and dependable leader he broke ranks with his self acclaimed political Godfather after an unsuccessful attempt on 10th july 2003 to illegally remove him from office through a fabricated and false letter of resignation which the state assembly accepted. Prior to his refusal to comply with the self acclaimed Godfathers ,he was removed out of office.

His three (3) years in office was felt with alot of impact, from his unprecedented and uquantifiable provision of democracy dividends to Anambra state, down to road contruction and other sectors just to mention a few. Am not here to stress this,but to praise a man who is worthy of emulation. Ever Since Ngige left the Government house the rapid development of my school (Anambra state university) is nothing to write home about. He's is a Leader who believes that when you educate a mans mind,you have equiped him. With the limited time he had, he virtually touched every sector with utmost care. He's the only Legitimate leader that i have witnessed in Nigeria, a man of the people, a motivator,an inspirer and above all a visionary leader who takes advices into consideration.

Dr Chris Ngige is a popular name which i respect so much and i will give my reasons for saying so. He is reputed to be one of a selected notables in Nigeria with impeccable records of integrity and enterprise,broad mindedness,his knowledge in administration is extensive and he is absolutely incorruptible. Am not trying to justify this man but he is a Dogged fighter, an upright leader who does'nt believe in money politics unlike other leaders. Senator Dr Chris Ngige is the first Governor in Anambra state to Abolished Godfatherism, he made us know of the availabilty of money in Anambra state, he opened our eyes to see how our money was beeing loothed by our Godfathers. Do you know what it takes to say no to a Godfather, it takes courage,only courage and that was what he did. He saw the amount of money beeing carved out for this half baked and undone men of high level of mediocrity. He's was the first Governor to condemn Obasanjo's third(3) tenure movement. This man cannot be compared to any other leader who had emerged from Anambra state,he's above all, both in truthfulness and otherwise. 

One of the most difficult conundrums that i still cant decipher is why we citizens of this nation stoop so low to money politics,where you sell your votes to vote someone who is incompetent. Am not trying to discourage you from collecting money from them (fake politicians). when they offer you money,collect, its your money which they stole from you through fuel subsidy, take it and vote for who you think is the right Leader. If someone could bribe us over to get to a seat whats going to be our faith when he start leading, cant we ask ourselves questions, are we to dump that we cant see it coming, at the end of the day we are the ones to suffer for it. The bulk of our people needs to be politically educated on the unwisdom to vote along religous and ethnic propaganda which is detrimental to democratic principles and national development.  We have suffered alot in this Nation, we need worthy leaders not rulers, we are still in the dark groping for light. The world is looking for men who will stand up for what they believe in, even if they stand alone, because we have confidence in such people,that is the man Senator Dr chris Ngige,OON (Onwa). Anambra state needs Senator Dr Chris Ngige, OON, who is detribalized,objective informed,dedicated and religiously committed to national cause." DR NGIGE DID IT IN THE PAST,HE UTILISED THE RESOURCES OF OUR STATE, I SOLEMNLY BELIEVE HE WILL DO IT AGAIN".  My fellow Anambarians lets cast our vote Wisely. Thank you!!
