TEN TOP CONTENDERS FOR THE MOST EXULTED POSITION IN ANAMBRA STATE
As
the tenure of the incumbent governor of Anambra State Mr. Peter Obi ends in
2014.The state progresses for November 16 gubernatorial elections. Who will win
the governorship race? There are 41 aspirants for Anambra State most exulted position,
new entrants and returnees are in the race. Campaigns have been flagged off,
cars decorated, campaign offices and posters almost everywhere, and the reason
for this visibility has been attributed to the fact that these contenders are
required to ensure wider reach to the Anambra people ahead of the party
primaries. However there are expectations by the people of Anambra State,
especially the state owned university that the incoming governor will above all
demands by students enhance infrastructural developments and reduce the present
school fees to the nearest minimum.
Here are the top ten contenders for the
government house.

Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (PDP)
Nicholas
Ukachukwu is the Chairman and C.E.O SNECOU group of companies Limited .He is a
veteran politician and rich. Prince Ukachukwu hails from the south senatorial
district of Anambra state. Since 1999,when the new democracy took off Ukachukwu
has been a recurring figure in the politics of Anambra state. He was a member
of the federal house of representatives and from there he came to Awka and
contested for governorship post in 2007 and 2010 0n the tickets of ANPP and HDP
respectively. He however lost. He has returned to PDP.Already his campaign
office is in Awka dotted with his posters and fliers. His major asset is that
he is a dogged fighter.

Mr. Willie Obiano (APGA).
Mr.
Willie Obiano served as an executive director of business banking fidelity bank
PLC. Mr Obiano holds a Bsc in Accountancy and MBA from the university of
lagos.A fellow of the institute of chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He has got
an edge in the race owing to the fact that some power centres has said that
Obiano is the anointed candidate of governor obi. And you know what power of incumbency
means in Nigerian political system. However APGA aggrieved members have vowed
to resist any plot to impose Obiano. Watch out for Willie Obiano.

Mr. Godwin Ezeemo.
Godwin
Ezeemo is the chairman chief Executive of the orient group of companies. Born
of a very humble parentage. The 58yrs old business mogul hails from Umuchu
Aguata Local Govt. Area. Godwin Ezeemo has a strong will for a better change.
Godwin Ezeemo has be seen donation to Boko Haram Victims. He will be battling
it out with Chris Ngige for who fly the APC flag.

Dr.Obinna Uzoh (PDP)
Barrister
Obinna Uzoh is the chairman Gocuz Conglomerate, he is known as a philanthropist
and seasoned politician who command change in his community through significant
acts of kindness and his unique implementation of social responsibility. Uzoh
has a plan to grow the Economy, Uzoh remains a close friend of IBB and also
does not hide his penchant to anything catholic as he has been going round
building parishes for his beloved faith. The population of Catholics in Anambra
state is extremely overwhelming and religion factor maybe shot for Dr.Obinna Uzoh.

Okija born politician okija, is the special adviser to the president on
Technical matters and also the secretary of the subsidy Reinvestment and
Empowerment programme (SUREP) committee. From all indication, he is our man
from Abuja, but the principles will determine.

immediate past Secretary to the State
Govt from Ayamelum LGA born 2nd April 1947. Chief Odenigbo is a man of many parts, he is a
renowned Banker, political leader, Administrator per excellence, patriotic
politician and business man . The Awka north governorship syndrome has given
him an edge in the race. Chief Odenigbo has achieved a lot as SSG from 2006 to
2012 by sheer dint of hard work, discipline, humility and above all the fear of
God.

Chairman
chief executive capital oil and gas, hails from nnewi, many people has
attributed his recent struggle to his political ambition. the young and
energetic oil mogul begun distributing kerosene in his home town at N50 per litre against N150
per litre, and other forms of generosity through the Ifeanyi Ubah foundation.
His posters are extra large and draws attention, he is seen as a man who will
liberate Anambarians and a man with the transformation agenda.

woman running for this position. she is currently the chairman house committee
on environment. she has visited all 21 local governments and launched her
campaigns.

The
man popularly known for his IGWEBUIKE philosophy. ubah holds the
record of the shortest serving governor of the state. elected in 2007 under the
platform of the PDP was sworn in and removed from office after 17 days
following a declaration by the supreme court.
He
is a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria representing Anambra south senatorial
district. commanding wealth and goodwill from numerous charity works.

is a recurrent name in the state, very popular and great politician. he has
occupied the government house from 2003
- 2006. many admire him for his courage and strong will, he is audible on the
podium and has got mobilization skills. most Anambarians desire the return of
Ngige to the government house because he is tested and trusted. a senator of the federal republic,
representing Anambra central senatorial district and I tell you he is doing it
well from Abuja.
